hi all

i saw this trade setup just before lunch, but the signal was not so strong so i did not went in. the price during this time was of coz also the best la.

the price was quite far from the ma and i might not have the chance to go in to this trade. but i waited and waited for the price to retace down. becoz cannot be all green candles lo sure will come down 1 la.
i waited and got in at a good price, but as usual good price also very scarey la becoz the price will go further down 1 lo, so i will at first sure lose a bit 1.

wah this got to be the fastest trade i done lo, just 5 mins and my tp was triggered. profits in my pocket hehehe. so happy.
anyway not going to trade coz got some news coming out and at night got us gdp coming out so market is going to be quiet. i win win a bit i happy liao.

if not she anyhow trade then lose money lo. wah la cannot make it.
she is like blur sotong lo, simple things i explain to her she also dun understand.
always give me that blur look. everytime got to scold her then she wake up her bloody idea. oh one more thing she like to do stupid things, i also dunno why she got stupid reasoning too. hahaha

anyway she really believes in me, even though my trading are losing money. but she still trust me and believe i will win one day, ahha dunno why she trust me so much.
i think her eyes got stamps.
maybe she lost so much money she dun care about losing already.
maybe one day i will lose until i give up and join the other 90% traders.
aiya i also dunno why i keep going on. i can see my trades are getting better now. the results are getting better amd i am overall a better trader now as compare to 6 months ago.
but still this is just the begining lo, i hope i can get pass this 2nd step and move on to the 3rd step. now end of april already, at the end of the year 2008 i will know i am a lousy or good trader. wish me luck hehe hope things will go well by the end of 2008.

The 5 Steps to becoming a trader

Hello all

This is a very meaningful article i read. would like to share with everyone
believe me, i am currently walking these steps. hope i can reach the top.

The 5 Steps to becoming a trader

Step One: Unconscious Incompetence.

This is the first step you take when starting to look into trading. you know that its a good way of making money because you've heard so many things about it and heard of so many millionaires. Unfortunately, just like when you first desire to drive a car you think it will be easy - after all, how hard can it be? Price either moves up or down - what's the big secret to that then - lets get cracking!

Unfortunately, just as when you first take your place in front of a steering wheel you find very quickly that you haven't got the first clue about what you're trying to do. You take lots of trades and lots of risks. When you enter a trade it turns against you so you reverse and it turns again .. and again, and again.

You may have initial success, and thats even worse - cos it tells your brain that this really is simple and you start to risk more money.

You try to turn around your losses by doubling up every time you trade. Sometimes you'll get away with it but more often than not you will come away scathed and bruised You are totally oblivious to your incompetence at trading.

This step can last for a week or two of trading but the market is usually swift and you move onth the next stage.

Step Two - Conscious Incompetence

Step two is where you realise that there is more work involved in trading and that you might actually have to work a few things out. You consciously realise that you are an incompetent trader - you don't have the skills or the insight to turn a regular profit.

You now set about buying systems and e-books galore, read websites based everywhere from USA to the Ukraine. and begin your search for the holy grail. During this time you will be a system nomad - you will flick from method to method day by day and week by week never sticking with one long enough to actually see if it does work. Every time you come upon a new indicator you'll be ecstatic that this is the one that will make all the difference.

You will test out automated systems on Metatrader, you'll play with moving averages, Fibonacci lines, support & resistance, Pivots, Fractals, Divergence, DMI, ADX, and a hundred other things all in the vein hope that your 'magic system' starts today. You'll be a top and bottom picker, trying to find the exact point of reversal with your indicators and you'll find yourself chasing losing trades and even adding to them because you are so sure you are right.

You'll go into the live chat room and see other traders making pips and you want to know why it's not you - you'll ask a million questions, some of which are so dumb that looking back you feel a bit silly. You'll then reach the point where you think all the ones who are calling pips after pips are liars - they cant be making that amount because you've studied and you don't make that, you know as much as they do and they must be lying. But they're in there day after day and their account just grows whilst yours falls.

You will be like a teenager - the traders that make money will freely give you advice but you're stubborn and think that you know best - you take no notice and overtrade your account even though everyone says you are mad to - but you know better. You'll consider following the calls that others make but even then it wont work so you try paying for signals from someone else - they don't work for you either.

You might even approach a 'guru' like Rob Booker or someone on a chat board who promises to make you into a trader(usually for a fee of course). Whether the guru is good or not you wont win because there is no replacement for screen time and you still think you know best.

This step can last ages and ages - in fact in reality talking with other traders as well as personal experience confirms that it can easily last well over a year and more nearer 3 years. This is also the step when you are most likely to give up through sheer frustration.

Around 60% of new traders die out in the first 3 months - they give up and this is good - think about it - if trading was easy we would all be millionaires. another 20% keep going for a year and then in desperation take risks guaranteed to blow their account which of course it does.

What may suprise you is that of the remaining 20% all of them will last around 3 years - and they will think they are safe in the water - but even at 3 years only a further 5-10% will continue and go on to actually make money consistently.

By the way - they are real figures, not just some ive picked out of my head - so when you get to 3 years in the game dont think its plain sailing from there.

Iv had many people argue with me about these timescales - funny enough none of them have been trading for more that 3 years - if you think you know better then ask on a board for someone who's been trading 5 years and ask them how long it takes to become fully 100% proficient. Sure i guess there will be exceptions to the rle - but i havent met any yet.

Eventually you do begin to come out of this phase. You've probably committed more time and money than you ever thought you would, lost 2 or 3 loaded accounts and all but given up maybe 3 or 4 times but now its in your blood

One day - im a split second moment you will enter stage 3.

Step 3 - The Eureka Moment

Towards the end of stage two you begin to realise that it's not the system that is making the difference. You realise that its actually possible to make money with a simple moving average and nothing else IF you can get your head and money management right You start to read books on the psychology of trading and identify with the characters portrayed in those books and finally comes the eureka moment.

The eureka moment causes a new connection to be made in your brain. You suddenly realise that neither you, nor anyone else can accurately predict what the market will do in the next ten seconds, never mind the next 20 mins.

Because of this revelation you stop taking any notice of what anyone thinks - what this news item will do, and what that event will do to the markets. You become an individual with your own method of trading

You start to work just one system that you mould to your own way of trading, you're starting to get happy and you define your risk threshold.

You start to take every trade that your 'edge' shows has a good probability of winning with. When the trade turns bad you don't get angry or even because you know in your head that as you couldn't possibly predict it it isn't your fault - as soon as you realise that the trade is bad you close it . The next trade or the one after it or the one after that will have higher odds of success because you know your system works.

You stop looking at trading results from a trade-to-trade perspective and start to look at weekly figures knowing that one bad trade does not a poor system make.

You have realised in an instant that the trading game is about one thing - consistency of your 'edge' and your discipline to take all the trades no matter what as you know the probabilities stack in your favour.

You learn about proper money management and leverage - risk of account etc etc - and this time it actually soaks in and you think back to those who advised the same thing a year ago with a smile. You weren't ready then, but you are now. The eureka moment came the moment that you truly accepted that you cannot predict the market.

Step 4 - Conscious Competence

You are making trades whenever your system tells you to. You take losses just as easily as you take wins You now let your winners run to their conclusion fully accepting the risk and knowing that your system makes more money than it looses and when you're on a loser you close it swiftly with little pain to your account

You are now at a point where you break even most of the time - day in day out, you will have weeks where you make 100 pips and weeks where you lose 100 pips - generally you are breaking even and not losing money. You are now conscious of the fact that you are making calls that are generally good and you are getting respect from other traders as you chat the day away. You still have to work at it and think about your trades but as this continues you begin to make more money than you lose consistently.

You'll start the day on a 20 pip win, take a 35 pip loss and have no feelings that you've given those pips back because you know that it will come back again. You will now begin to make consistent pips week in and week out 25 pips one week, 50 the next and so on.

This lasts about 6 months

Step Five - Unconscious Competence

Now we’re cooking - just like driving a car, every day you get in your seat and trade - you do everything now on an unconscious level. You are running on autopilot. You start to pick the really big trades and getting 200 pips in a day doesnt make you any more excited that getting 1 pips.

You see the newbies in the forum shouting 'go dollar go' as if they are urging on a horse to win in the grand national and you see yourself - but many years ago now.

This is trading utopia - you have mastered your emotions and you are now a trader with a rapidly growing account.

You're a star in the trading chat room and people listen to what you say. You recognise yourself in their questions from about two years ago. You pass on your advice but you know most of it is futile because they're teenagers - some of them will get to where you are - some will do it fast and others will be slower - literally dozens and dozens will never get past stage two, but a few will.

Trading is no longer exciting - in fact it's probably boring you to bits - like everything in life when you get good at it or do it for your job - it gets boring - you're doing your job and that's that.

Finally you grow out of the chat rooms and find a few choice people who you converse with about the markets without being influenced at all.

All the time you are honing your methods to extract the maximum profit from the market without increasing risk. Your method of trading doesnt change - it just gets better - you now have what women call 'intuition'

You can now say with your head held high "I'm a currency trader" but to be honest you dont even bother telling anyone - it's a job like any other.

I hope youve enjoyed reading this journey into a traders mind and that hopefully youve identified with some points in here.

Remember that only 5% will actually make it - but the reason for that isnt ability, its staying power and the ability to change your perceptions and paradigms as new information comes available.

The losers are those who wanted to 'get rich quick' but approached the market and within 6 months put on a pair of blinkers so they couldnt see the obvious - a kind of "this is the way i see it and thats that" scenario - refusing to assimilate new information that changes that perception.

Im happy to tell you that the reason i started trading was because of the 'get rich quick' mindset. Just that now i see it as 'get rich slow'

If youre thinking about giving up i have one piece of advice for you ....

Ask yourself the question "how many years would you go to college if you knew for a fact that there was a million dollars a year job at the end of it?

Take care and good trading to you all.

my trading journey so far

hello again

i don't trade on friday, who knows? i read about people don't trade on friday then i just follow them.
anyway here is a quick wrap up of my dk system live testing for first week.

5 trades, 4 win, 1 lost. overall still a good 80% win
for the 1 trade lost, i learnt 3 vauable lessons.
2 on trade filter and 1 on trade manually exit.
overall i think i discovered something new in currency pairs movement.
which i plan to go back to my lab and back test it.
so excited to try out my new system for next week with added trade filters!
hope to filtered off more false trades!

i started trading oct 2007.
ok here is my 6 months of trade journey so far.
stocks - lost 2.5k
stocks software - $500
forex - lost 2k
stocks course - 3k
options course - 2k
forex cours -1k
total: 11k

wow thats a huge amout. well as you can see, results speak for itself, overall i am a losing trader. mmmm... strange as i am using 80% trading strageies? or is it just a smooth talking marketing gimick just to make money? maybe the trainer themselves are just earning money off these courses. maybe i am realli cursed. haha who knows? i dont know?

hope i can make back this amount to at least break even.
then i can really say i make some profits.
wish me luck!

USDJPY 240408 0000GMT

Hi

This is not a trade report, but emotions and thoughts during this trade. i need to write down all these before this trade is over, i will forget about all these after this trade. felt uncomfortable with this trade as all my previous entry signals are all gone, exits signal are all showing instead. might exit this trade with break even if the price do go there.

this morning i woke up, took a look at all the pairs and only found one that is nice.
so i shorted it, looks good. i went to bath and came out i had about +10 pips in the money. but when i reached office, i saw USD going crazy again, went up about 30 pips.
i did not hit my sl yet so now the trade is still on going. lucky for me i did not chase prices early in the morning, i waited for the right price. if not i would most likely got stop out with loss. i am currently about -10 pips and i notice some exit signal already, Hull turn blue, thick green GRBB showing, all the asian markets are going up. the previous entry signal that i saw are all gone, maybe thats why my backtesting results is so good. mmmmm.. should i close? with -10 pips or should i just leave it? i am not sure myself. i going against TNT again with his trade, TNT people are long and i am short. don't forget that TNT is 80% win, that means my trade only 20% win chance. this is only my fifth trade doing forward testing, if i lose i will know next time to get out early, if i win next time i will just leave it.should i trust my system or should i just leave the market to decide for me? well seriously i dunno! sure sounds just like my system! yeah!

ok trade closed, hit my SL, well in future i will closed my trades if the same thing happen. 5 trades, 4 win, 1 lost. still going strong, for this losing trade i had learnt 2 vauable lessons whick i will take note of in my future trades.
lose the money but never lose the lesson! getting ready for next trade!

reflections for this trade
firstly before entering this trade, i noticed one of the trade filtering signal but decided to take the risk and went in.
secondly, i noticed the exit signal for a manual exit. but i ignore them and continue with the trade.

so lesson learnt.
do not go in a trade if not comfortable
exit manually without waiting if trade exit signal appears.

i might discovered something with price movement among the curriences, need to go back to my lab to test it out. let see what are the lab test results. excited!

Forex course

i attended his course and he is great!

honest, Patient, helpful, humble
He is truthful and even share about his own trading mistakes. no sales talk and cherry picking.

he is serious in helping traders to be successful. his strategies are easy to follow and low risk. The lifetime support heprovide is priceless, he response almost immediatly. every week will provide overall market condition and currency pairs overview. he is honest and don't sales talk as many trainers and senminars do. as we all know market conditions changes all the time and not 2 trades are excatly similar. But ??? is able to adjust according to current turmoil market condition and still have a good success rate. the only down side is that you got to glue to the computer to look out for trade signals. but given the upcoming new technology of mobile boardband
and UMPC, everyone can be a great trader!
i see many new students signing up is so busy guiding new students he might not have time for us older students but i had to give justice by giving him a great review as he totally deserved it.

my forex trading course

Hello everyone

A little bit about myself before i talk about ***.I am 27 currently working as IT system administrator. my goal is to become full time tradr before 30 years old. before the course, i know nothing about stocks and economics. after the course, i had become from novice to intermint trader. It was confusing at first, but i went back and go through the concept and understand the system.

Mr Keaene Lee, founder of the T3B system, is a self made millionair before 30.
I attended the T3B course on Sep 07. many people are wondering what is T3B? is it really that good? As the name Track The Trend Breakthrough System suggest, T3B is trend trading based on reading charts indicators. We are given exact buy and sell prices. When it is time to buy, buy. when it is time to sell, sell!. we do this with POEMS ProTrader which free us from checking at the prices whole day. we set the Buy and Sell Stop loss price at night and it will be active for the next day.

T3B is a safe and conservative trading method that free you from checking prices whole day. As trend traders we do not follow any tips or analyst reports. we only look at price movement. price is the results of supply and demand. If we are wrong we cut loss, if we are right we make money. Trend trading is like baseball, we get strick out often but when we hit, they are home runs.

Sad to say i am still not making much profits. i had joined the course too late and it was already the end of the bull. i am still making silly mistake.

you always hear T3B poeple says follow the rules. Is it really that simple? just follow the rules and you sure win? YES it is true! stick to the charts and rules and your win rate is 70%-80%.
but whey isn't everyone in T3B a millionair if the system is so powerful???

well i can only speak based on my own personal experience.i understand the concept even better then the mentors, but whey am i still not making money????? i started at the end of the bull. end of the bull is market is very voliete. when the DOW go down, nothing can be spare, everything at SGX will come down. All the stocks i buy i cut loss. the more i cut loss the less confident i am. i always though i am a very good T3B trader. but when losses,l i start to doubt the system. reading on my own to try to find the holy grail. as i was reading and reading. i realise that i had lost many oppurnity that T3B presents. i had miss wilmar 2 times. i had miss lots of shorting chances. becasue i was not looking at the charts, i was not scanning and i do not have a watch list.

maybe when i never buy i will win, but those i bought i will lose. i dunno if i am very sway or wat.i never had luck with gambling. when i was young i lost a lot on soccer betting and majong. maybe i got no luck. maybe i am dreaming? if so easy then everyone no need to work already. time to wake up!

Here is my 3rd live trade today using my DK system.
after 2 winning trades, i was going to close shop today already as i am over trading.

"I dont' know" system

Hi all

After live trading for 1 month, i modified Clarence PIPS system to suit my own trading style and personality. it is a scalping system. i am not saying Clarence system is not good, i have the upmost respect for him. in fact it had a 80% win rate as confirmed by himself and all his faithful students. mmmm.. strange why i lost most of my trades with his system?

My system is based on my understanding of world economics, stocks, commodities, FX, current market conditions, fundementals and technical analysis. believe me, i had read almost anything that i can get my hands on.

The system is based on the following key principles.

1) I dont' know when pairs will go up or down.

2) I dont' know how long pairs will go up or go down.

3) I dont' know how far pairs will go up or go down.

4) All i know is pairs go up and down.

I named my system I dont' know system.
Sounds good? I will be doing forward testing and postings the results on my journal. Lets see how it go.

PS. if this blog is not updated, most likey i lost and gave up.
by then i would have lost my mind too, cant blog anyway.

Blog

Hi

my blog is getting boring with all these trade postings.
i decide to write some of my views and thoughts on my blog.
i mean seriously, i wont go back and read all these trade postings.
and i think nobody will read them anyway.
i almost gave up on this blog as i had a number of losing trades and i do not want to post them here.
i was expecting to post only at least 80% winning trades based on Clarence TNT system. just attend a few trading courses and you are on your way to make easy money and be a millionaire? if it is so easy then everyone no need to work already. guess things are not as easy as it is. am i going crazy with all these losing trades? saying all these bullshit? maybe i am crazy ahhaha. thats what most people says about me anyway.

i had read a lot of books on trading and attended numerous trading courses advertised on newspaper, btw they are not cheap. "80% winning accuracy!", "triple my trading account in 3 days!" "earn $5k in 5 hours!" WOW soudns too good to be true, then most likely it is.

read as much as possible about trading will help? fundementals, technical, economics news, etc. Not really.
staring at the chart everytime will make me a good trader? well thats not true too.
keeping up with the latest economics news and learning everything on the internet will help? well the truth is i lost most of my trades.
current market conditions making trading very difficult? maybe true in a way. but if i am serious in trading full time. i must be able to make money even during volatile times. even during times like now, there are still people making money trading, why not me??? strange maybe i am really cursed. better stick to my 9-5 IT job and get my IT certifications more realistic and stable? at least every month i will be given a salary. every month positive, better then every month negative in trading rite?

well so far my start at fx trading had not been as good as what i expected.
after live trading for about a month, i understand more about trading
trading is 80% psychology and 20% trading system.
so trading is more about your own brain and emotions, which are the most difficult to master. i personally think many traders gave up during this stage.
why do i keep trading even though i am losing most of the time?
am i cursed? why always hit my stop loss then fly up? so strange i am so unlucky?
i got money to lose? i don't want to give up? i refuse to lose? i want to retire early and not be in this rat race? able to enjoy a wealthy life? maybe i hate my 9-6 job as IT support?
i am not sure haha. maybe it is a combination of everything.
i don't know what is it that keeps me going on in trading. i just keep going on. maybe someday i will be lucky and start winning. hopefully i still have my capital and right mind left. wish me luck!
